The SPE South Texas Section, the SPE Polymer Modifiers and Additives Division, and the Thermoplastic Materials and Foams Division are organizing technical sessions for the 2018 SPE International Conference (Feb 25-28) in the following areas:

The 2017 SPE International Polyolefins Conference was very successful with over 720 people attending, 64 exhibitor booths, a student poster competition, two networking receptions, and tremendous commercial activity.

The South Texas Section of the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE), in partnership with the Polymer Materials and Additives (PMAD), the Thermoplastic Materials and Foams (TPM&F) Divisions of SPE, is sponsoring the upcoming International Conference on Polyolefins 2018 to be held February 25, 2017 through February 28, 2018 at the Hilton Houston North Hotel, Houston, Texas.
- Coffee Break Court (Booths #13-36)( see layout) $4250
- Regular Booth Space (Booths # 9-12, 37-62) $3450
- Entry Way Booths (# 1-8) $2450
In return for this fee each exhibitor will receive the following:
- Booth space of 8 feet x 10 feet.
- Identification sign 7 inches x 44 inches (one line).
- Six-foot blue skirted table.
- Two chairs.
- 110-volt electrical connections.
- One wastebasket.
- Exhibit space for two days (2/26/18 and 2/27/18).
- Two (2) Exhibitor Badges plus a discounted rate for extra badges.
- Full Admission to all conference sponsored activities including lunch meals for two (2) exhibitors.
- Free Wi-Fi for all exhibitors.
Arrangements for 220-volt electrical connections or telephone lines for each booth should be made through the Hilton Greenspoint Hotel (281-875-2222). Arrangements for incoming and outgoing shipment of booth materials should be made through Freeman Company.
Set Up Time
The Exhibition Hall will be available for set up only Sunday, February 25,2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. (CST). There will be no exceptions!!! All booths must be set up before the our first mixer that will begin at 6:30 p.m. (CST) in the booth area.
The Exhibition Hall will be open for visitors on Monday, February 26nd and Tuesday the 27th, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (CST). The Exhibition Hall will close immediately after the end of the afternoon session on Tuesday evening the 27th. All exhibitors must disassemble their booths and remove their shipping containers on Tuesday evening after the close of the exhibits. Freeman Company will disassemble the exhibit area starting at 5 p.m. (CST) on Tuesday, February 27th.

Conference Publicity for Exhibitors and SponsorsPoster Contest
The South Texas Chapter of the Society of Plastics Engineers is soliciting submissions for student poster presentations in conjunction with the International Conference on Polyolefins 2017. This conference typically attracts more than 500 participants which will provide an excellent opportunity to demonstrate commitment of your program and students to the global plastics community. We encourage and welcome your participation in the Student Poster Contest at the Polyolefins 2017 Conference in Houston, TX.
The posters will be judged on the following criteria:
- Technical content
- Relevance to the conference and/or plastics
- Presentation organization and appearance
The following prizes will be awarded to the best entries: First prize: $500 Second prize: $400 Third prize: $300 Honorable Mention (if any): $200. Awards will be presented during luncheon Tuesday. Awardees are required to be present to receive their awards.
Posters should adhere to the following content and format: Poster topic must concern plastics Poster topic is encouraged (but not required) to deal with polyolefins. Students who desire to present posters from universities outside of those in Texas at which the South Texas Section supports student chapters should contact Iman Bahrani or William Talbott to discuss arrangements. Those students will be expected to be present at the Conference. Special student registration fee will be available.
Please note: A maximum of three poster entries per school and only one poster entry per student. Presentation to be contained on one poster board or graphic poster film [most common size = 30 inches by 40 inches (76 cm x 102 cm) with the greater dimension oriented vertically].
Posters must be at the Hotel by Sunday, February 26, 2017. No posters will be accepted on Monday, February 27, 2017. If necessary, poster entries could be sent for delivery with arrival no earlier than Wednesday, February 22, 2017 and no later than Friday, February 24, 2017 to the conference hotel:
