This presentation will deliver a comprehensive overview of high-performance thermoplastics—materials distinguished by their low density, exceptional mechanical properties, and thermal stability at elevated temperatures. These attributes make them ideal substitutes for metals in demanding applications across aerospace, defense, oil & gas, medical devices, electronics, and more. High-performance thermoplastics are primarily synthesized from “heavy” chemical blocks such as aromatics, resulting in production costs that are significantly higher than conventional thermoplastics based on light olefin feedstocks.

Jan has over 25 years of experience in Polymers, Chemicals, Refining & Feedstocks, Bio-Renewables, and Low-Carbon Solutions. He has delivered business growth through new technologies, services, and efficiencies. Previously, leading the Global Energy & Feedstocks Business Team, the Chemical Technology Organization, and the US Tech Center at Braskem. Before joining Braskem, he worked in various business and technology leadership roles at ExxonMobil, where he spun off two ventures, developed strategies for new assets in US and Asia, and increased sales across multiple business lines.

Take me out to the ballpark! Warm weather, the crack of the ball and the roar of the crowd…join us for the signal that summer has arrived. Baseball at it’s finest as the Astros take on the Pirates at Daiken Park.
Come early to a board meeting/networking social at 5:15pm in the Boardroom(Union Station entrance, behind the gates at the stadium.) Gates open at 5pm-game ticket required for entrance. Light snacks provided.
