The South
Texas Section of the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) in
partnership with the Polymer Materials and Additives
Division (PMAD) of SPE , The Thermoplastic Materials and
Foams (TPM&F) Division of SPE, and the Flexible
Packaging of SPE is sponsoring the upcoming
"International Polyolefins Conference 2010" to be held
February 21 through February 24, 2010 at the Hilton Houston,
North, Houston, Texas.

Tutorial:
Fundamentals of Polyolefins; Materials & Applications
The
program will start at 1:00 pm Sunday, February 21,
2010. The final session will end at 5:15 pm.
There
will be no charge for the tutorial to Conference
registrants, but it is required that you indicate you
will be attending the tutorial when completing you’re
your registration form. A fee of $25.00 for
non-conference registrants will be charged, and a
registration indicating “Tutorial Only” must be
submitted. To reserve a space register online.
Exhibit Space
The South
Texas Section of SPE would like to offer you the opportunity
to exhibit at this upcoming conference. There are 69 booth
spaces available. The exhibit area will be in the lobby of
the hotel, immediately adjacent to the conference session
rooms. Regular booth space will cost
$2,000
"Cantina Area" $2.300,
and "Coffee Break Court"
booth space
will be
$3.000 (booths # 54 - 69
see
layout).
In this court area, coffee and beverages will be replenished
from 7:00 AM until 3:00 PM, with breakfast buns in the
morning and snacks in the afternoon. Cantina Area
exhibit spaces (booths 4-13) feature chips and salsa in the
afternoon. In return for this
fee each exhibitor will receive the following:

Booth space of 8' x 10'.

110-volt electrical connections (Those who need
additional requirements should contact Ron Kennedy,
Hilton Houston North.)

Identification sign 7" x 44" (one line).

Six-foot blue skirted table.
-
Two chairs.

One wastebasket.

Exhibit space for two days (2/22/2010 and 2/23/2010)..

Two (2) Exhibitor Badges.

Full Admission to all Conference sponsored activities
including lunch meals for two (2) exhibitors.

Two (2) Conference CDs
Tabletop exhibits are 3' x 6'
tables and include a skirted table, two chairs, one
admission and one conference CD for the price of $1000.
Arrangements for 220-volt
electrical connections or telephone lines for each booth
should be made through the Hilton Houston North
(281-875-2222). Arrangements for incoming and outgoing
shipment of booth materials should be made through
George Fern Company, (contact Jenny Chackny, 281-260-7200. The Exhibit
area will be available for set up from 1300 to 1800 hours on
Sunday, February 21st. The Exhibition Hall will be open for
visitors on the 22st of February evening and February 22nd
and February 23rd, from 0800 to 1700
hours. The Exhibition Area will close immediately following
the end of the afternoon session on Tuesday evening February
23rd. All exhibitors must disassemble their booths and
remove their shipping containers on Tuesday evening after
the close of the exhibits. Disassembly of the exhibit area
will be done by George Fern Convention Services and will
start after 1700 hours on the 24th..
Booth selection by exhibitors will be made in the order in
which actual payments are received. Selection of booth
spaces by the exhibit committee will be started as soon as
payment is received. Exhibitor registration forms, which
include a release statement, will be sent to each exhibitor.
Many exhibitors have requested the same booth space as last
year, and the committee will honor those requests as much as
possible as payments are received. Credit card payments will
be accepted. Please make checks payable to "Polyolefins

Poster
Contest
The South Texas Chapter of
the Society of Plastics Engineers is soliciting submissions
for student poster presentations in conjunction with the
International Conference on Polyolefins 2010. This
conference typically attracts more than 500 participants
which will provide an excellent opportunity to demonstrate
commitment of your program and students to the global
plastics community. We encourage and welcome your
participation in the Student Poster Contest at the
Polyolefins 2010 Conference in Houston, TX.
The posters will be judged
on the following criteria:

Technical
content
(2)
Relevance to
the conference and/or plastics
(3)
Presentation
organization and appearance
The
following prizes will be awarded to the best entries:
First prize: $1000
Second prize: $750
Third prize: $500
Awards will be presented during luncheon Tuesday.
Awardees are required to be present to receive their
awards.
Posters
should adhere to the following content and format:
Poster topic must concern plastics
Poster topic is encouraged (but not required) to
deal with polyolefins
One poster entry per student
Presentation to be contained on one poster board
[most common size = 30 inches by 40 inches

with the greater dimension oriented vertically]
